Steve Gray, Chairman of emnos and Mobilize- Systems and formerly Managing Director, dunnhumby

Following a career in fmcg with P&G, Pepsico and Barilla, Steve joined Tesco/dunnhumby in 2000 where he was Managing Director and worked closely with Tesco and their suppliers to help them create value from Tesco’s Clubcard data and media services.

Steve was a director of dunnhumby’s joint venture with Kroger in the USA. He joined emnos as Chief Executive in 2006 and became Chairman in 2009. Emnos work closely with Metro, Carrefour, Morrisons, Waitrose, Target and other retailers in Europe and Australia. He is also Chairman at Mobilize an award winning mobile commerce company who are helping retailers to “mobilize” their loyalty programmes and Chairman at Clash Media a digital media business.


David Oliver, Formerly Director of CRM, Hertz Europe

David has over 20 years experience of marketing leadership across industries as diverse as the motor industry with Volkswagen, cable TV and telecoms with Nynex, utilities with British Gas, financial services with Goldfish credit card & travel with Hertz Europe.  David’s experience also covers a wide spectrum of marketing disciplines including brands & advertising, market research, marketing support to new business launches, driving growth, customer marketing & retention, loyalty and membership programmes, ethical counter competitor strategy and measuring marketing effectiveness.

David is in regular demand to speak at conferences throughout Europe across a variety of marketing topics.

A French and Economics graduate, outside work David has a busy home-life as proud Dad to four lively children ranging in age from 6 to 16.


Howard Langer, Head of CRM and Direct Marketing, B&Q plc

Howard is Head of CRM and Direct Marketing at B&Q, the UKs largest Home Improvement retailer. Howard is responsible for developing B&Q’s targetted communications strategy including ownership of B&Q’s customer database and analytical CRM team.

Prior to this role, he was Head of Customer Experience where he implemented a national customer feedback process across B&Q’s store estate. Howard has previously held roles as Head of Customer Insight at B&Q and Head of Pricing. Originally a Chartered Accountant with PricewaterhouseCoopers, he left the world of finance to join Superdrug’s Business Planning Team in a series of anlaytical roles before moving to B&Q.


Grant Baillie,  eCRM Insight and Marketing Manager,  argos.co.uk

Grant joined Argos.co.uk in Feb 2006 where he heads up the eCRM Insight & Marketing team, with responsibility for all online existing customer marketing.  Argos.co.uk is the most visited online high street retailer in the UK, with sales of over £1.1bn in the last financial year.

Grant’s role there is a diverse one with responsibility for customer contact & segmentation strategy, measuring customer value across the different customer touch points and managing the single customer view database. Prior to joining Argos, Grant spent 8 years working in a variety of CRM, loyalty & product marketing roles at Barclaycard, Signet & Abbey (Santander).


Anne Brunsdon heads up Group Customer Marketing for Carphone Warehouse
(covering The Phone House and Carphone Warehouse brands, in UK and Europe).

The key challenge is to grow loyalty and customer retention, through; Direct Marketing (Acquisition and Retention), CRM and effective customer propositions, across all channels and media.

Anne’s background is in planning and resource optimisation for customer management and has definitely approached the Marketing arena from the analytical side.
She has been with Carphone for over 5 years and has held various customer and planning roles. Prior to this, Anne has 10 years experience in telecoms and customer service management at companies including; TCNZ, AAPT , Onetel UK . Other roles include; directory advertising sales, recruitment, casino resource planning, outsource call centre pricing and call centre operational start ups. Anne started out with Ansett Airlines, where she began as a sales team leader during university and progressed to a role co-ordinating the call centre operations across their network of 7 national centres. She has a graduate degree in Economics, from the Australian National University.

Anne likes to live up to the 'outgoing Australian' stereotype and enjoys; travel, competitive netball, triathlons, snowboarding and did her first half-marathon event, last year. Although, she is expecting her first child in November, so this year is looking far more tame!


Andy Tudor, Senior Technical Development Manager, Aurora Fashions

Andy has held various roles within the I.T. function throughout his 10 year career in Retail. Andy initiated his career with WHSmith PLC on their I.T. graduate program and chose a project management path as his initial permanent role focussing on store system technologies working on EPOS rollouts and in store efficiency enhancements with a number of tier one I.T. suppliers to Retail. Andy also held a business relationship manager role providing the WHSmith commercial teams with a single conduit for I.T. enabling him to appreciate the demands which the retail business has on its merchandising and supply chain solutions.
                                                               
Following a move to Mosaic Fashions in 2006 (now Aurora Fashions) Andy's initial responsibilities were for managing change into the bricks and mortar store systems environment. In recognition of the changing Retail landscape the I.T. function was partially re-organised at Mosaic to align the demand for change affecting all selling channels (store & web) into a single team, the Retail Development Team. Andy's role now encompasses the management of the Retail Development Team which includes selling channel and shared services I.T. solutions development.


Will Shuckburgh – Business Development Director, Nectar

Will Shuckburgh is Business Development Director of Nectar, responsible for all new commercial partnerships and business ventures undertaken by the Nectar programme in the UK. The last year has seen the Programme grow substantially, with the addition of major partnerships with Homebase and Yahoo!.

Prior to joining Nectar in 2004, Will worked for the leading strategy consultancy, LEK Consulting, across Retail, Financial Service and Private Equity engagements. He holds a degree in Philosophy, Politics and Economics (PPE) from Oxford University.


Matthew Henton, Marketing Director, eSpares

Matthew is an executive level marketing professional with over 10 years experience in online marketing.

Currently Marketing Director at spare parts retailer eSpares, Matthew has responsibility for all online marketing and brand activities, including PR, paid search, SEO and email marketing. Matthew is also responsible for developing social commerce and new media strategy. In 2009, eSpares won the Econsultancy Award for the Most Innovative Digital Marketing Team.

Prior to joining eSpares, Matthew was Marketing Director at consumer ISP Brightview plc. Here, he drove the consolidation of 10 niche ISPs into single brand, Madasafish, which became one of the most highly regarded consumer broadband providers in the UK. Matthew also managed the Greenbee Telecoms and Waitrose.com ISP services on behalf of the John Lewis Partnership, gaining a prestigious Which? Best ISP award for Waitrose in 2007.

During his time at Brightview, Matthew was a Council member of the Internet Service Providers’ Association. ISPA is the UK Internet industry’s trade body with responsibility for promoting competition and self-regulation.


Amanda Hepburn, Content and Social Media Manager, Game Group

Amanda is a versatile B2C specialist with 15 years' experience in marketing communications and editorial across the disciplines of direct marketing, online, and magazine publishing.

Amanda joined the online team at GAME Group in early 2009. Part of her role was to take on the responsibility of the company’s brand-new social media accounts. Over a year later she has gained valuable insight into the highs and lows of directly engaging with a highly vocal customer base.

Prior to working at GAME, Amanda was a senior copywriter whose words and ideas were consistently proven to uplift product sales and increase response in catalogues and recruitment campaigns. This reputation lead to her being recommended as a speaker for the 'Catalogue Creative & Critique' session at the 2008 ECMOD conference at Earls Court.

Always keen to learn, Amanda recently qualified as a Nutritional Therapy Practitioner to continue building knowledge in her lifelong interest in nutrition, fitness and health.


Mike Bielinski, CEO, Vodat International

Mike a Liverpool maths graduate of the 60’s, has 45 years experience in IT, 30 of them in Retail first as a retailer in the mid 70’s developing systems then as a supplier providing IT services to Retail.

A serial entrepreneur Mike has a reputation for identifying and developing opportunities that generate retail business benefits through the use of emerging technologies. That has included the development and manufacture of soft EPOS systems in the early 80’s and the first PC based systems in the 90’s. That culminated in the late 90’s with the sale of those businesses allowing Mike to turn his attention to communications after identifying this as the next big area for change in Retail.

Mike formed Vodat International in 2002 to develop networks for retailers based on the then emerging Broadband. He saw Retail as a natural benefiter of high speed always on communications. Since then Vodat International has successfully leveraged value for over 50 high street retailers through the development of products that use its secure managed communications platform to effectively reduce costs and increase productivity and customer service.

 Mike sees unified communications and secure unified payment services as an important element to helping retailers turn multichannel opportunities into cross channel business.


Ed Wrazen, Vice President, Product Marketing, Trillium Software

Ed Wrazen is vice president product marketing with Harte-Hanks Trillium Software, a division of Harte Hanks, a worldwide direct and targeted marketing services company.

Trillium Software provides data quality software and services for many of the world's leading global consumer and B2B brands.   Ed started his career working on retail banking and travel reservation systems and has over 30 years of experience in implementing information technology solutions in a variety of roles.

In the last 20 years, he has worked with a number of leading consulting and software companies, specialising in database technologies, data migration and data quality and performance management. Ed is a frequent industry presenter and author on data management and data quality related topics.


David Hogg, Retail/CPG Marketing Manager, Sterling Commerce

David is Retail/CPG marketing manager at Sterling Commerce, an AT&T Inc. (NYSE:T) subsidiary and one of the world’s largest providers of multi-enterprise collaboration software and services.

David joined Sterling Commerce in 2006 and is responsible for supporting Retail / CPG initiatives in Europe, Middle East and Africa.

He has extensive understanding and experience of the global retail industry having spent his entire career buying and selling retail solutions. He worked for ASDA, Woolworths and Eatons before transitioning to software sales roles. He has held senior positions with vendors including Kewill Systems, and prior to joining Sterling Commerce at Transora (1Sync), where he was the Director of Business Development for Europe.

In his previous role at Transora, David created the company’s business strategy to penetrate the European market and to grow business with key customers including Proctor & Gamble, Colgate Palmolive, Unilever, Carrefour, Tesco, Sainsbury’s,
Ahold, Delhaize and Coop Italia.

David has presented at many seminars throughout Europe and Asia Pacific. He currently sits on the GDS adoption Committee of GS1UK and is involved in the Global Upstream Supply Initiative.

He holds a BSc in Computing Science and Engineering from the University of Stirling, Scotland.


Henry Elliss, Associate Director: Social Media, Tamar

Henry is Associate Director: Social Media, heading up Tamar's Social Media division. He is a member of the IAB social media council and a regular voice for the industry in both trade press and at events.

At Tamar, Henry provides consultancy on social media strategy and management for a diverse range of blue-chip clients. When he is not advising on social media opportunities, Henry advises Tamar’s search team on advanced search engine optimisation techniques.

Prior to the birth of social media marketing, Henry earned his salt as a search campaign manager at Tamar for 3 years, working on SEO strategies and implementation for key clients including: B&Q, Endsleigh, Lloyds TSB and Saga.


David Oliver, Partner, Diamond Management and Technology Consultants

David is the partner responsible for the European retail and consumer goods practice at Diamond Management and Technology Consultants. During his career, he has worked with many major retailers in the UK and internationally on important strategic initiatives and major change programmes. David’s areas of expertise include consumer insight, multi-channel integration, information management and business/technology alignment. At Diamond, he has led the firm’s efforts to help retailers use information more effectively and to incorporate customer insights into their day-to-day decision-making. Much of David’s work over the past five years has centred on helping clients move from selling through multiple channels to becoming truly integrated multichannel retailers.

David’s experience prior to Diamond includes Business Development Director roles in the Retail and Media sectors, as well as previous consulting experience with Bain and KSA. He is a well known industry commentator and served on the judging panel for the Retail Week Awards for a number of years. David holds a BA in Economics from Durham University and an MBA (with distinction) from the Wharton School. He is married with 3 children and is a keen Arsenal supporter.
