How retailers can deliver on their environmental objectives
A one day conference, free for retailers to attend
With both businesses and consumers placing increased emphasis on green issues, there is growing pressure on retailers to demonstrate that the environment is high on their agenda.
A recent report by the National Consumer Council (NCC), which looked into the green credentials of eight major UK supermarkets, suggests that shoppers want the opportunity to make green choices.
Many retailers are already aware of these new socially conscious consumers and realise that 'doing the right thing' is good for business. And although establishing better environmental practice can improve a company's ability to attract and retain customers, an improved public image is not the only incentive for addressing these issues. By becoming more resource efficient, a company can make significant cost savings throughout its operation.
During the day you will hear from leading retailers about their environmental initiatives and also from specialists on how to tackle vital environmental issues. You will also have the opportunity to select specific streamed workshops. There will be a limited number of supplier companies who will be on hand to offer advice who have been selected for their relevance to the subject.
